About Robin L Seaton

Christian Author, Blogger, and Storyteller

Greetings! I’m so delighted to have you here.
On the homepage I introduced you to my vision for the website; but now I’d like to introduce myself.

I love storytelling, and so through stories I share about my life and journey with the God who made and continually rescues me. (His name is Yahweh, and his son’s name is Jesus.) I will on occasion also share the stories of others who have met and found in this same God the answers to their deepest cries, and has given them hope they never imagined.

I also share through storytelling how I’ve come to this place of experiencing the God of the Bible in such intimacy of union. I share stories from the Bible that have drawn me into this relationship, and have taught me who this God is, what he is like, and how to approach him, experience him, and learn from him. I share what his voice sounds like and how to hear him speak. I have learned he is not far off and wants to be known.

I’ve spent most of my life in pursuit of union with this amazing God who made and gave me purpose, for from my youth, I craved and sought love.

I tell stories about my journey as a third mom to three young men, a step-mom to two of them and an adoptive mom to a son with non-verbal autism with mood disorder and Reactive Attachment disorder. I write about life as a widow, and will someday venture into writing as a pastor’s wife cross-culturally. Within each of these roles I have often felt very unable in my own strength.

As a third mom I write about profound rejection and the belonging I experience in union with Jesus. As an adoptive and step mom to sons who struggle deeply, I tell stories about feeling anxiety, depression, and a sense of utter helplessness because life hit me with issues I had no clue how to handle. In time I will write more about my cross-cultural experiences and how they have deeply impacted me.

I have experienced both the good, bad, and ugly in life and try to write honestly so that you can see who I am and that I don’t experience life in a tidy package that always looks perfect on social media.

Yet, within each story I also write about how this God, through his Spirit has stepped into my pain and made his presence known. I have felt the immense calm that comes when the Spirit of Yahweh steps in and re-orders my thinking and emotions and, at times, has altered my experience miraculously. I have learned how to realize his presence and have heard his voice (not audibly though some have). I have come to walk with a living God who cares deeply about those he made, and have experienced the reunion with him that he desires for each one of us.

Within these pages and posts, I will invite you to join me on this journey. You are always welcome here, whether we agree or not. You are loved with an everlasting love regardless of where you find yourself right now. Blessings, dear one.

WHO I AM INSIDE

You will also find that I

I am a passionate person, whom some might call “a bit fiery”

I am an introvert who definitely needs her alone time, but I also need to be around people to become reinvigorated, better in small numbers than crowds.

My personality type is very empathetic, and so I care deeply about people and the causes within my heart. Hurting people catch my attention and heart.

I must often be reminded that I can’t fix things or people because life is too complex, but I know who can as I’ve experienced Jesus’ life and love fixing me. I’m not arrived yet, but I am so much farther than I used to be. There is hope.

I spend a lot of time with Jesus and his Word because they are my source of life, refreshment, and give me the ability to love anyone deeply with the love he’s given me.

I’ve gone through some pretty tough stuff and these experiences have deepened my capacity for compassion and hope.

I’m a messy housekeeper, love to read, and need music. My husband is my best friend, next to Jesus. Sunshine, flowers, and birds singing outside the window make me smile.

Lastly, one of my many favorite Bible verses is:

The Lord your God is with you,

the Mighty Warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you;

in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zeph. 3:17 (NIV)

BUT TO COMPLETE MY STORY I MUST ADD

Throughout, I’ve experienced a loving, powerful God who’s most intimate miracles have held and kept me through the hardest of life.

And because I have experienced God’s lavish love and transforming power in the pain, my greatest asset in life is to know him. Even when it includes walking with him through the pain. My life with my Creator, Lord, and Master is my greatest story.

MY HOPE FOR YOU

I also hope that at some time you feel safe enough to share your story with all its questions and doubts. For your story matters to me, dear one. It matters to God even more.

Because I expect your story also includes walking with a limp, may I do one more thing in this space?

MAY I PRAY FOR YOU?

Dear Lord, this dear one may also have a story filled with pain. Would your love and power meet them here in this space? Would you gift them with hope so their limp seems a little less painful today? Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Blessings,

Robin
