About Robin L Seaton
Christian Author, Blogger, and StorytellerGreetings! I’m so delighted to have you here.
On the homepage I introduced you to my vision for the website; but now I’d like to introduce myself.
ME AT FIRST GLANCE
At first glance, my life looks pretty cushy. I am wife to a wonderful guy, mom to three handsome sons, and a dog-mom to Holly the mini-dachshund. But that’s not all the story, and so if you stop there you’ll miss the real me.
THE BEHIND THE SCENES ME
I’m the third mom to each of my wonderful sons, one of whom has non-verbal autism. I’m the second wife to my amazing husband, and we share a blended family that didn’t initially want to be a family. All of our sons were adopted, and each lost an adoptive parent after watching them suffer. All of us walks with our own unique limp.
But because of our pain, by God’s grace, we are each more compassionate toward those who also walk through life with more difficulty.
My particular limp has included seasons of anger, anxiety, depression, doubts, and questions. Yet God’s compassion in my struggles has given me hope that each season won’t last forever. God’s power through his Spirit has also given me the ability to pull through and experience his life once again.
Because of all I’ve been through, I long to be able to extend that same compassion and hope to all questioners and skeptics with broken hearts.
WHO I AM INSIDE
You will also find that I
love photography, singing praise music very loud when no one else but God is listening, and reading historic fiction.
find the Bible and missionary biographies to be my most enjoyable reads.
drink herbal tea and an occasional decaf coffee with sweet cream. Iced or hot.
take great delight in watching my flower gardens especially when I notice bees, butterflies, and that occasional hummingbird hang around.
and my husband love to travel and enjoy the natural beauty of God’s creation.
eat at least one square of dark chocolate a day (for health reasons only, of course.)
BUT TO COMPLETE MY STORY I MUST ADD
Throughout, I’ve experienced a loving, powerful God who’s most intimate miracles have held and kept me through the hardest of life.
And because I have experienced God’s lavish love and transforming power in the pain, my greatest asset in life is to know him. Even when it includes walking with him through the pain. My life with my Creator, Lord, and Master is my greatest story.
MY HOPE FOR YOU
I also hope that at some time you feel safe enough to share your story with all its questions and doubts. For your story matters to me, dear one. It matters to God even more.
Because I expect your story also includes walking with a limp, may I do one more thing in this space?
MAY I PRAY FOR YOU?
Dear Lord, this dear one may also have a story filled with pain. Would your love and power meet them here in this space? Would you gift them with hope so their limp seems a little less painful today? Thank you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Blessings,
Robin
